Separate the gift from the cost to deliver it
Ask what the proposed per-gift price includes. Contents, the presentation box, a branded sleeve or engraving, a note and assembly may be grouped together or itemized. Compare proposals on the same basis so a lower headline price does not hide missing work.
Delivery deserves its own line. Individual home shipments, several office deliveries and a pallet going to a receiving dock are different fulfillment projects. The dimensions and weight of the packed gift matter, as do destination, service and timing.
Use a simple planning model
Multiply the recipient count by your target gift budget. Add an allowance for shipping, any separately quoted design or setup work, applicable taxes and a reserve your team approves. Replace allowances with confirmed amounts as the project develops.
The following numbers are an arithmetic example, not Merry Finch prices or carrier rates. A written proposal confirms the actual scope and costs.
| Planning item | Example calculation |
|---|---|
| Gifts, packaging and personalization target | 100 × $75 = $7,500 |
| Home-shipping allowance | 100 × $15 = $1,500 |
| Illustrative subtotal | $9,000 |
| Items still to confirm | Tax, any separate setup charges and a project reserve |
Put the spend where the recipient will notice it
Decide which element carries the idea. It might be a distinctive coffee paired with a useful brewing detail, a small collection of sweets or a beautifully engraved keepsake crate. Give that element enough room in the budget before adding more products.
When the total needs to come down, review the number of items, package dimensions, personalization method and delivery plan together. Removing a thoughtful centerpiece just to keep several incidental items can weaken the gift. A smaller, coherent selection can still feel generous.
Keep recipient groups intentional
A company may need different concepts for an office team, a remote employee and an individual client. Document the reason for each group and give it a clear count and allowance. Too many variations make approval and fulfillment harder to manage.
Ask how dietary substitutions will be priced and handled. Confirm whether extra gifts can be produced later, what changes after approval would cost and who can authorize an increase. These are project questions to settle before committing to production.
Turn the budget into a conversation
Our calculator lets you explore quantities, gift budgets and editable delivery allowances, including office, home, mixed and pallet shipping. It does not reserve products or return live carrier prices.
Send the plan with your vision and preferred arrival date. Merry Finch will curate a proposal around those priorities, with the contents, packaging and delivery approach confirmed for your company. You do not need to choose a pre-priced catalog box to get started.
